I’m honoured to have contributed as a researcher to the Feminist Community University Education: UCD and WCI Ronanstown 25 Year Impact Evaluation Report. This milestone report documents the impact of a powerful partnership between University College Dublin and the Women’s Community Initiative in Ronanstown — a programme that has quietly and consistently held space for women in community-based learning for over two decades.

Grounded in feminist values and a commitment to social justice, this unique outreach programme has offered transformative opportunities for learning, connection, and collective empowerment. The evaluation captures not only the outcomes but also the spirit of the programme — where education is deeply relational, and care is both a method and a goal.

The report shares stories from participants, highlights the value of community-based feminist education, and calls for renewed commitment and resourcing to sustain and expand this work. At the launch, held with some of the women and partners who make this programme possible, we were reminded that community education is more than knowledge-sharing — it’s a space of solidarity, imagination, and growth.

I’ve also just finished teaching the module Feminism and Social Change with the latest cohort of the programme — a role that continues to deepen my belief in education as a practice of transformation, not just transmission.
